Case 23: Focus

All of the adjustment techniques could help Cathy, Lupe, and Arnold, provided they first recognize that they are in an attitudinal rut and need a major renewal program. Cathy might benefit most from exchanging her shopping (which is not satisfying her) for a workout or physical training routine (Adjustment 5) as well as placing more emphasis on her winners (Adjustment 2). Lupe might benefit most from revitalizing her attitude by giving it away to others (Adjustment 3) and looking better to herself (Adjustment 4). Arnold might benefit most from the flip-side technique (Adjustment 1) and placing more emphasis on his winners (Adjustment 2).

It is, however, most difficult for an outsider to designate any specific adjustment for another individual. Cathy, Lupe, and Arnold could experiment with all the techniques and then concentrate on those that help the most.
