Both Ingrid and Darla may be successful in adjusting to the dynamic changes of the future, but Darla appears to be more realistic. When change occurs in most organizations, it is not business as usual and most employees can benefit from a new approach.

Darla is to be applauded for her philosophy of trying to turn change into opportunity, but “looking out for number one” often has a devious connotation that implies a departure from normal ethical and sound human-relations principles to get ahead. If deviousness is Darla’s strategy, her efforts could prove to be counterproductive because she could injure relationships that might provide support she could need at a later date.
