A final suggestion for your personal development program is to set up a reward system. Having such a program increases the number of successes in your life and adds to the pleasure of satisfying your values. Sometimes it takes a long time to reach a goal, and it is easy to become discouraged or to lose sight of the eventual satisfaction waiting for you when you finally achieve that long-term goal. Rewards for completing tasks along the way keep you going and provide you with more energy for the quest.

Some of the best rewards are those that please the child who still lives inside you, the little kid who is the primary source of your creativity, enthusiasm, play, intuition, and emotions. It is that little kid who is so easily discouraged or disappointed and who needs the revitalization of frequent rewards.
