Attentiveness Signals

You demonstrate attentiveness by making good eye contact, nodding occasionally, looking interested with facial expressions and body postures. The occasional “Uh-huh,” “I see,” “I hear you,” and so on also communicate attentiveness. These signals create the impression you are listening, but they prove nothing about whether you have understood a single word.
