Chapter 17. Evaluating Common Responses

Some of our habitual listening responses do not confirm that we have heard correctly and do not provide any proof for ourselves that our understanding is correct. Such responses will not necessarily produce an adverse effect. But any time you use one of these responses, you take a risk of creating a communication roadblock or even conflict. To illustrate, consider the common responses explained below.
