Learn to Be Flexible

We can’t know how the choices we make at each critical juncture will impact our ability to meet our balancing goals. This means we need to be flexible, adjust, and refine our balance.

Be cautious about planning life too rigidly. Creating balance requires us to adjust our priority list periodically. Both our work and family lives are dynamic, so something that works today might not work next week. We must rework our balance when new and important things come up suddenly and require us to reorder our priorities. This does not mean that what we were doing was wrong; it simply means that there needs to be a degree of flexibility when balancing our family and work.
