Part: I Widgets > Controls, Composites, Groups, and Shells

Chapter 11. Controls, Composites, Groups, and Shells

Containment (sometimes called nesting) is a valuable technique that allows one control to be placed inside another. Composites and shells support nesting of controls, allowing you to build complex containment hierarchies. Group boxes are composites that support nesting, often containing radio buttons.

Although many of the concepts related to containment, shells, and controls have been discussed elsewhere, the classes themselves are described here. In particular, shells provide a rich API to interact with the window manager.
