Chapter 22. WEAVING X3D INTO WEB PAGES > Adding X3D/XML to Your Web Page

Adding X3D/XML to Your Web Page

In Chapter 6, "Weaving VRML into Web Pages," you learned how to stitch VRML content into Web pages using HTML's OBJECT and EMBED tags. This technique is also being adopted by early implementors of X3D. In many cases, a parameterized OBJECT or APPLET tag is used as a standalone element with a reference to the external file. For example, following is a tag based on the Shout implementation:

<applet CODEBASE="../codedir"
        CODE="applets/myApplet.class"
        ARCHIVE="my3DClasses.zip"
        WIDTH="200"
        HEIGHT="200">
<param name="src" value="myworld.x3d">
<param name="headlightOn" value="true">
</applet>
