Summary

VRML worlds can be loaded directly into a Web browser or, when you want to control the dimensions of your content, into a JavaScript popup window. Alternately, VRML worlds can be woven into HTML Web pages using the EMBED and OBJECT elements. Introduced by Netscape, EMBED is a nonstandard element that has been around longer than OBJECT and, as such, is the more popular of the two techniques.

Although originally supported only by Netscape Navigator, EMBED is now supported by Internet Explorer as well. Internet Explorer also supports the OBJECT element, which was created by the World Wide Web Consortium as a standard, all-purpose object-embedding mechanism to replace EMBED and similar non-standard elements.
