Chapter 7. CUSTOMIZING LOCATION, SIZE, A... > Moving, Scaling, and Rotating

Moving, Scaling, and Rotating

One of the first things you may want to do with an existing VRML world is change the position, size, or angle of objects it contains. You might, for example, find that an object is too far away from the viewer and therefore difficult to see. It would be helpful to move the object closer or enlarge it (perhaps doubling or tripling in size). Likewise, you might find that objects in a scene are not oriented to your liking, which you can easily fix by rotating them to a different angle.

Objects in a VRML scene can be moved, scaled (resized), and rotated using the versatile Transform node. Entire scenes, in fact, can be moved, scaled, and rotated using this node, provided you take the time to understand the various fields it offers.
