WYSIWYG Tools Come of Age (Two Out of Three Ain't Bad)

For purposes of this chapter, suffice it to say that Dreamweaver MX goes far beyond lip service in its support for web standards and accessibility. Its capabilities and standards support are commensurate with that of today's browsers.

Although the WaSP was unable to work with Adobe, that company independently and substantially improved the standards support in its GoLive professional visual web authoring product (www.adobe.com/products/golive/main.html).

In addition to CSS and XHTML, GoLive supports the Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (www.w3.org/AudioVideo/), the W3C standard for creating accessible multimedia presentations. Those who use either of these market-leading visual web editors can readily produce standards-compliant, accessible sites.
