Chapter Seven. Tighter, Firmer Pages Gua... > Banish Redundant Table Cells

Banish Redundant Table Cells

Consider the website of The Marine Center [7.5], designed and produced in 2003 for the web's oldest supplier of rare, net-collected fish and corals. Notice that the site's layout is divided into several task-oriented areas. For instance, an impulse-buyer's column at the right promotes currently available items, invites the visitor to join the site's mailing list, and provides a means of searching and browsing. The content area at the left promotes new arrivals, offers a rotating series of beauty shots, and invites the reader to peruse a monthly “Fish Tales” column.

7.5. Fish on the menu: The Marine Center (www.themarinecenter.com) offers rare, net-collected fish and corals and hybrid standards compliance.
