divs Are Just All Right

Some of you are thinking: “Hey, Mister Fancy Pants Standards Book Fellow, you say div elements are bad, yet you yourself used a div element in the very first example in this chapter (the navigational images at zeldman.com). I have caught you in a big fat lie, you bad, bad man.”

Actually, we never said div elements are bad and neither did the W3C, which after all created these elements. (If you skipped it, refer back to “div, id, and other assistants” earlier in this chapter.) Div is an entirely appropriate unit of markup for blocking out structural areas of your site.
