Filtering

The implementation mechanics of filtering a DataView are as simple as sorting and searching; you simply set the RowFilter property of the DataView to the filter expression. Although the syntax of filter expressions is more complicated than separating column names by commas, it should pose no particular problem to anybody who has conquered (or even come to terms with) the SQL WHERE clause.

In fact, filter expressions are very similar to the logical expressions used in SQL, and are the same as those used in the Expression property of a DataColumn to create calculated columns. The available operators are shown in Table 19-1. Normal precedence rules apply, and you can force the order of evaluation using parentheses.
