Chapter 13. List Controls > The ComboBox Control

The ComboBox Control

Like the ListBox and CheckedListBox, the ComboBox control is descended from the ListControl class and shares many of the properties and methods of these two controls. Because of this, the techniques for using it are very similar. Like the ListBox, the items displayed in the ComboBox are exposed in its Items property, which is an instance of the ComboBox.ObjectCollection, but behaves identically to the ListBox.ObjectCollection.

All of the techniques we examined in the last section for manipulating the Items collection work equally well with the ComboBox. It can be complex-bound using the same DataSource, DataMember, and ValueMember properties, or manipulated using the Add, AddRange, Insert, and Remove methods.
