Using the Graphics Object

NOTE

If you have experience with the GDI API, you'll recognize that the Graphics object is roughly equivalent to the device context, and in fact, the Graphics object can be created from an hDC, and provides a GetHdc method to retrieve the device context handle associated with it.


The key to any direct graphic manipulation with GDI+ is the Graphics class. A Graphics object is the “canvas” on which all drawing operations occur. Amongst other capabilities, the class provides a large group of methods for creating drawing lines and shapes and filling them with patterns and colors, as shown in Table 2-8.
