The Launch and Maintenance Phases

Once a site has been launched and real customers are visiting and experiencing it, you must continue customer analysis. You will probably add new features and designs while the customer mix changes, so you may need alternative methods of accomplishing the same tasks. All these factors lead to new problems in production. Online site satisfaction indices (see Section E.6, Comparison of Commercial Tools) provide ways to understand and improve a site in production. These tools can help alert you to changes in your audience or in your customers' perception of how well your site works. You can use these alerts to follow up with more in-depth research, using traditional laboratory methods or deeper online analyses.
