Problem

Sometimes customers want to print what's on their screen. Customers become frustrated if a printed Web page chops off content, goes on and on with pages of irrelevant data, or does not offer a “printer-friendly” version.

When people are on a site and they need to print a page, they might hit the Print button on the browser and see what comes out. Sometimes the results are too short, with chopped off key content, such as the last lines of text or important images. Or it might be too long, with pages and pages of irrelevant data. Visitors with advanced knowledge of computers might be able to save the HTML and edit it, or take a screen shot. But novice computer users are more likely to abandon the process, and perhaps abandon the site. This is unfortunate because creating a separate printer-friendly version of most pages is easy.
