Problem

Sometimes customers click on links, type in URLs, or have bookmarks for pages that no longer exist, resulting in the dreaded “Page not found” error message or, even worse, “Error 404.”

Customers might try to access a page that does not exist. Perhaps the page they came from had a bad link, perhaps the page was moved, or perhaps they typed in the link incorrectly. In any case, you need to inform visitors that the page they're looking for cannot be found, and give them some ways of recovering.
