Problem

Chronologically organizing content on a site helps visitors understand the order of content in time, whether past or future. But very long lists of events are difficult to read and use.

Chronological structure makes sense for things that have a strong notion of time, such as historical events, technical reports, plane tickets, and changes on a Web page. But if a list is too long, with no hierarchical breakdown into eras, types, or milestones, it will take too long to read and scroll through, and thus it will become less useful.
