Background

Site visitors do not always scroll down, and they can miss important information if it is not positioned well. This pattern describes why you should have your most important information at the top of a Web page, and how to design your Web site accordingly. This pattern is part of the PAGE TEMPLATE (D1) pattern, and you can use it with GRID LAYOUT (I1), CLEAR FIRST READS (I3), EXPANDING-WIDTH SCREEN SIZE (I4), and FIXED-WIDTH SCREEN SIZE (I5) when you're designing a page template.
