Put Headlines and Blurbs in the Content Database

Writing one headline and blurb for each longer piece of text gives you the capability to place a reference to the text anywhere on your site, especially on the HOMEPAGE PORTAL (C1) and other PAGE TEMPLATES (D1). Referencing content on other pages becomes as simple as referencing the article number. The code on related pages looks up the article number and places the headline, blurb, and content link in the page. Figure D3.2 shows an example of how the content for a piece of text might be broken up into a database-compatible form.

Figure D3.2. A content file or record might show information in this way in a database.
