Lab 8.2 Multimedia Production Software

Lab Objectives

After this lab, you will be able to:

  • Understand Software Requirements for Images

  • Understand Software Requirements for Streaming Multimedia

  • Sample Some Multimedia Production Software

Once you've captured your raw media and saved it to disk, you'll need some way to polish it up for your final presentation. In some cases, this isn't so much a separate step as it is a continuation of the importing process. Most scanning applications allow users to crop and perform other minor image modifications immediately after scanning, and some audio and video capturing programs provide similar tools for manipulating captured media before saving it. In other cases, you'll want to save the newly imported material in a scratch file somewhere on your hard disk and perform any modifications on a copy, in case you need to go back later and restore the original.
