BUILDING A WORKFLOW THAT WORKS FOR YOU

First, it’s important to understand the major stages of web globalization. As shown in Figure 5.1, the globalization workflow can be broken down into three steps: internationalization, localization, and content management. Should you continue to expand and improve your site, the workflow repeats as many times as needed. Each of these stages has a workflow of its own, which is described in detail in subsequent chapters. Translation, which plays a role in both localization and content management, even has its own workflow. The more complex your site, the more complex the workflow becomes. Rarely are all localized web sites at the same stage in the development cycle; you may even find yourself juggling separate and simultaneous workflows.
