Unicode (www.unicode.org) is the mother of all character sets. Unicode version 3.1 includes 94,140 characters—enough to represent the world’s major languages. In Unicode, each character is represented by one number and one number only, so there’s zero chance for character conflicts among or between various languages.

Unicode Has Arrived

Unicode is the underlying character set used in Windows 2000, Oracle, Java, Sun, IBM, and numerous other platforms and applications. More important, Internet Explorer 5.x, Netscape Navigator 6.x, and Opera 6 all support Unicode.
