Inserting Paragraphs and Breaks

By using the paragraph element, you can separate your paragraphs into discrete, visible blocks. The paragraph tag formats these blocks by invoking two carriage returns where you determine the end of your paragraph to be.

Understanding the Paragraph Tag Approach

In HTML, there were two common paragraph-tagging styles. The first is to simply use the <p> tag before the natural beginning of a paragraph as shown in Listing 9.1.
