Using Lists for Indenting Items

Frustrated by a lack of control, particularly in the early days of HTML, coders got clever and saw that they could exploit certain aspects of tags to get results that were never intended by that tag.

A prime example of this is lists. You might have noticed that all lists naturally create indentations to achieve the logical placement of specific items. So some coders, and some software applications, exploit lists to achieve indentation.
