Managing Columns and Rows

In the calendar example, you previewed the ability to manipulate the number of columns a particular data cell occupied. This is possible not only in the horizontal (cells spanning columns), but in the vertical (cells spanning rows), or even both. This process also is sometimes referred to as merging cells.

To demonstrate, let's take another look at the form developed in Chapter 4, "Collecting Data with Forms," as shown in Figure 5.4.
