Example: An ATL-Based ActiveX Control Using AppWizard

The first step in creating an ActiveX control using Visual C++ is to create a project:

  1. Choose File, New. Click the Projects tab in the dialog box that appears.

  2. In the Location box, enter the path that you want to use for the project.

  3. Give it a name in the Project Name box (see Figure 33.3).

  4. When you're ready, click the OK button (not shown). The next dialog box lets you choose a server type to use.

  5. Select Dynamic Link Library (DLL) and click the Finish button.
