Validating Code

It's important to validate your HTML code to catch any mistakes you may have made. Web browsers try to parse HTML code even if it has errors, so your pages may look right in your browser but contain errors that display incorrectly in other browsers.

If your site makes extensive use of tables, for example, it's easy to unknowingly throw in a few extra tags that aren't picked up by your browser. Internet Explorer, especially, is good at parsing "bad" code. Although this may sound like a feature, it can promulgate bad code unless you're careful about validating your work.
