Working with Database Applications

In the MVM example you looked at User, Business, and Data Services. This method of partitioning an application is often referred to as N-Tier architecture. A typical toolset for building an N-Tier architecture might look like the following:

  • User Services— HTML/Java/DHTML.

  • Business Services— Web application server and transaction server for ASP, data access, and load distribution.

  • Data Services— RDBMS.
