Elements of Color

As mentioned earlier, there is no color without light. Of course, that could be said for all of life. Plants and animals (including the human variety) require light for their very existence.

Although light is necessary, color is not. In fact, many people cannot perceive color, or they perceive color improperly such as in the common condition known as color blindness. However, for those of us with normal color perception, color is a significant aspect of our emotional and artistic life. In fact, it's so much a part of us that we might not necessarily even know what motivates us to pick out certain colors for our wardrobes—yet we do it.
