Using Lists

Lists are HTML's way of helping to separate information into a logical series of items. Built on text formatting styles, HTML lists tend to be stable because they've been supported by browsers from early on in the history of the language.

Although HTML 4.0, in its strict interpretation, deprecates some aspects of attributes related to lists, the actual tags are going strong. In this chapter, you'll get a chance to look at why lists are so valuable, learn how to use them, and to prepare for some of the special concerns to be aware of when using them.
