Using Client-Side Versus Server-Side Scripting

Scripting adds life to your Web page or intranet application. It can make a static page an interactive user- and data-aware page. Scripting generally occurs either on the client or the server. Client-side scripting is embedded in an HTML page, and server-side scripting is most often found in an ASP.

Client-Side Scripting

Client-side scripting has many uses. For your database-driven Web applications discussions, one of the most useful applications of client-side scripting is for data entry validation. A client-side script is the ideal tool to check ranges and dates, and to incorporate logic into the data entry process or into a form. Client-side scripting is also used for providing animation and validating users.
