Chapter 22. Layout: The Old Way > Creating Blocks of Space

Creating Blocks of Space

Netscape’s spacer tag can also be used to create blocks of space that you can wrap text around.

To create blocks of space

1.
Place the cursor where the space should appear, before any text that will wrap around it.

2.
Type <spacer.

3.
Type type=“block”.

4.
Type width=“w” height=“h”, where w and h are the width and height, respectively, of the block, in pixels.

5.
To wrap text around the block, type align=“left” or align=“right”, depending on which side of the block you want the text.

To align the block next to the text, without wrapping the text around it, type align=“direction”, where direction is top, middle, or bottom.

6.
Type the final >.
