Chapter 6. Page Layout > Specifying the Margins

Specifying the Margins

Both Netscape and Internet Explorer add a certain amount of space, by default, between the contents of a page and the edges of the window. And both let you specify how much space you want there to be. Unfortunately, since they don't understand each other's methods, you'll have to use both.

To specify the margins:

1.
For your Explorer users, in the BODY tag, after the word BODY but before the final >, type LEFT-MARGIN=x TOPMARGIN=y, where x is the width in pixels of the space between the left border of the window and the contents of the page and y is the height in pixels between the top border of the window and the contents of the page.

2.
For Netscape folks, in the BODY tag, after the word BODY but before the final >, typeMARGINWIDTH=x, MARGINHEIGHT=y, where x and y are the same values as in step 1.
