Chapter 12. Multimedia > Adding Background Sound for Explorer

Adding Background Sound for Explorer

Internet Explorer has a special, non-standard tag that lets you link a sound to a page and have the sound play automatically whenever a visitor jumps to the page.

To add background sound:

1.
In the HTML document, type <BGSOUND SRC="sound.url" where sound.url is the complete file name, including the extension of the sound.

2.
If desired, type LOOP=n where n is the number of times you wish the sound to be played. Use LOOP=-1 or LOOP=infinite to play the sound over and over.

3.
Type the final >.
