Chapter 12. Multimedia > Adding Internal Video for Explorer

Adding Internal Video for Explorer

Internet Explorer supports a special, non-standard attribute of the IMG tag that allows you to insert video on a page.

To add video for Internet Explorer:

1.
Create an AVI movie. Create a static image, perhaps of the first frame of the movie.

2.
In your HTML document, type <IMG SRC="image.gif" where image.gif is the static image that will be displayed before and after the movie is played.

3.
Type DYNSRC="movie.avi" where movie.avi is the URL of the desired movie.

4.
If desired, type LOOP=n where n is the number of times the movie should be projected. Use LOOP=-1 or LOOP=infinite to project the movie continuously.

5.
If desired, type CONTROLS to show the play button and progress bar under the movie.

6.
If desired, type START=event, where event is either FILEOPEN to project the movie when the visitor jumps to the page, or MOUSEOVER, to project the movie when the visitor points at the link with the mouse.

7.
Type the final >.
