Chapter 12. Multimedia > Adding Internal Video

Adding Internal Video

Miracle of miracles, there is a way to insert video and animations on a page in a way that both Netscape and Explorer recognize.

To add internal video:

1.
Create a movie or animation. You can also convert an existing movie.

2.
In your HTML document, type<EMBED SRC="movie.ext", where movie.ext is the URL for the desired movie file, including the extension.

3.
Type WIDTH=w HEIGHT=h where w and h are the width and height, respectively, in pixels, of the movie.

4.
If desired, typeAUTOSTART=true to have the movie play automatically when the visitor jumps to the page.

5.
If desired, type LOOP=true to have the movie play continuously until the visitor clicks on the movie or jumps to a different page.

6.
If desired, typeALIGN=direction. The ALIGN tag works the same for video as it does for images. For more information, see page 93.

7.
Type >.
