Chapter 7. Links > Changing the Color of Links

Changing the Color of Links

The LINK tags let you change the color of links. Although certain standard link colors have already been established—like blue for links that have not yet been visited—you can use whatever color you want. But don't forget: people will only click on a link if they know it's a link.

To change the color of links:

1.
Place the cursor inside the BODY tag.

2.
To change the color of links that have not yet been visited, type LINK.

To change the color of links that have already been visited, typeVLINK.

To change the color of a link when the user clicks on it, typeALINK.

Figure 7.35. You may select a color for new links, visited links, and active links (one that is being clicked).

3.
Type ="#rrggbb", where rrggbb is the hexadecimal representation of the desired color.

Or type =color, where color is one of the 16 predefined colors.

4.
Repeat steps 2–3 for each kind of link.
