Chapter 10.  Frames > Creating Frames in Rows and Columns

Creating Frames in Rows and Columns

Some information is best displayed horizontally while some looks better vertically. You can create both rows and columns in the same frameset to accommodate different kinds of information.

To create a frameset with both rows and columns:

1.
Type <FRAMESET to begin.

2.
Type ROWS "a, b" where a and b (and any others) represent the height of the corresponding rows.

Figure 10.9. You set the size of rows and columns in the FRAMESET tag. Then define each row from left to right, and from top to bottom.

3.
Type COLS="x, y" where x and y (and any others) represent the width of the corresponding columns.

4.
Type >.

5.
Define the first frame in the first row by typing <FRAME NAME="name" SRC="initialurl.html">.

6.
Define the rest of the frames in the first row from left to right.

7.
Repeat steps 5–6 for each row, from top to bottom.

8.
Type </FRAMESET> to complete the frameset.
