Chapter 6. Importing Graphics > Importing PDF, EPS, and Illustrator Files

Importing PDF, EPS, and Illustrator Files

Flash includes support for importing Adobe Illustrator 10, EPS, and PDF files. You can now import Adobe Illustrator files created in version 6 through 10, and PDF files created in version 1.4 or earlier (this is the version of the PDF file format, the industry standard, not the version of Adobe Acrobat which is currently at version 6.0). When these files are imported, there are a number of options you can choose from. Some options in the Import options dialog box are context-sensitive; that is, they only appear if they are relevant to the imported file. The dialog box that appears when importing any three of these files is the same expect that if there are multiple pages in the file being imported, an additional option appears so you can choose which pages to import (Adobe Illustrator doesn’t support multiple pages). Other than this, they are the same. The “Convert Pages To” option appears regardless of whether there are multiple pages in the document being imported.
