Modifying Timeline Effects

Once you create a Timeline effect, you cannot return to the Insert menu, and edit the effect. For example, what if you use the Explode Timeline effect, and you want to increase the effects duration: Macromedia understands that you want help in creating Timeline effects, and they also understand that you might change you mind, and modify the effect. When you modify a Timeline effect, you can change any of the options available from the original effect dialog box; however, you can’t change one effect into another. To change to a different effect, first remove the current effect, then click the Insert menu, point to Timeline Effects, and then select another effect.

Modify Timeline Effects

1.
Select the Timeline effect.

Click the Modify menu, point to Timeline Effects, and then click Edit Effect.

TIMESAVER You can also click the Edit button, located on the Property Inspector.

Make the necessary changes to the effect.

4.
Click OK to add the effect to the Timeline.

5.
Click the Control menu, and then click Test Movie.

Flash displays the modified Timeline effect.
