Understanding Event Handlers

Event handlers control when events in Flash occur. When you create a script, some event will be invoked to trigger that particular action. Event handlers come in three different types: mouse events, frame events, and clip events. Choosing the correct event handler will make all the difference in the world.

Work with Mouse Events

Mouse events trigger actions when the mouse interacts with a button or movie clip instance. The following events can be associated with mouse events:
