Chapter 23. Using Learning Interactions > Interactions and Templates

Interactions and Templates

Building interactive courseware is currently a huge development area. Macromedia is aware of this fact, and the built-in learning interactions that come with Flash MX make it possible for anyone to create complex online learning applications in a standalone capacity or in applications that send information to a server-side Learning Management System (LMS). You can track a single learning interaction or one that uses the LMS to track cumulative results. Before you start planning and building your learning projects that need to be tracked, note that you must have a server-side LMS that meets Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) or Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standards.

In addition, your system must meet certain limitations in terms of browser compatibility for tracking learner interactions. Windows users must have Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape 4.0 or higher, whereas on a Macintosh, tracking does not work in Internet Explorer at all, and you must use Netscape version 4.5 or higher.
