Accessibility Guidelines

Until the release of Macromedia Flash MX, Flash content had been woefully inaccessible to users who required screen readers or were hearing impaired. Now the Flash Player 6 can communicate with screen reader software and other assistive devices to convey visual content.

Screen reader software allows people with visual disabilities to use the Internet. Screen readers speak or read text, but cannot convey images or animations. Because much Flash content is inaccessible to screen readers, it’s essential to make the most of the new Flash MX accessibility options.
