Working with Gradient Fills

Gradient fills—bands of color that blend into each other—are by far the most complex feature in the drawing API. If you haven’t already, start by familiarizing yourself with the manual procedures for creating gradients. Then you’ll know what you’re shooting for with their programmatic equivalents.

For gradient fills, you use the beginGradientFill() and endFill() methods of the MovieClip class. (See Table 18.1 earlier in this chapter for examples.)
