Flash at Work: Sending E-Mail from Flash

A common task often requested by Flash developers is to have e-mail sent directly from a Flash movie. E-mail is typically sent by a full-fledged e-mail program on the user’s machine, such as Microsoft Outlook. However, Flash runs in a browser, not an e-mail program. Browsers don’t typically have any e-mail–sending capabilities at all.

To make your movie send e-mail, you will have to make it go through a server. The movie will actually just send the information to the server. It is the server that will do the work.
