Cartoon Animation in Flash

Flash’s vector format is ideally suited to cartoon animation. Vector graphics resemble cartoon-style drawings and can be easily and accurately transformed within Flash. Many traditional cartooning techniques can be translated into Flash.

Panning

A classic animation strategy that can be translated to the Web is panning. Panning creates the illusion of depth of field and a continuous background. In film this would be achieved by panning the camera, or moving the camera across a scene at a fixed height to capture the full sweep of a distant background. In animation, this effect is simulated by moving the background across the fixed Stage.
