Creating Shadow Effects

One of the interesting uses of symbols that you read about in Chapter 5, "Creating Symbols," is the adjustment of their color values. With this effect, you can apply two instances of a symbol and wash out the color on one, thus making it appear to be a shadow.

What's more, you also can skew the grayed-out symbol, making it appear to be the result of light hitting the first symbol at an angle.
